Atlanta Track Club Unveils 2026 Event & Program Calendar
ATLANTA - Oct. 3, 2025 - Atlanta Track Club today released its 2026 calendar, highlighting more than 30 events and a robust slate of youth and training programs aimed at keeping Atlanta moving throughout the year. With a mix of returning favorites, new formats and a full lineup of races, the calendar offers opportunities for every runner and walker in the city.
"Atlanta Track Club's calendar offers something for everyone — from first timers to lifelong runners — with opportunities to take on new distances, try different types of events and come back stronger each year," said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club. "We're not just putting on races; we're creating community, building camaraderie and supporting competition that grows deeper and stronger every year."
Among the year's first highlights: Registration for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race will reopen on Monday, November 3 at 8 a.m. with only 1,000 spots left. The race, which reverses the direction of the iconic Peachtree course, will be held on January 3, 2026, for its second running.
The Atlanta Beltline Race Series expands with the addition of the Southside Beltline 8K. It joins the Northside, Westside and Eastside events to complete the four-part, year-round series. Each event takes place in a different quadrant of the city, with longer distances slated for cooler months and a 3K non-competitive option open to walkers, strollers and dogs offered at every race.
"The Atlanta Beltline is grateful for our continued partnership with Atlanta Track Club and excited to expand the Beltline Race Series to the southside," said Rob Brawner, executive director of the Atlanta Beltline Partnership. "Together, we're creating opportunities for more Atlantans to engage with the Beltline through fitness, health and wellness."
A community favorite also returns in a new format: the Wingfoot Mile. Formerly the Grand Prix Mile, the event will now include invitational heats for top high school milers, free to Atlanta Track Club members and open for ages 6 and older paces.
Some changes to the calendar include the retirement of the Wingfoot Meet of Champions, a high school postseason event, which will not be held due to updates to the GHSA state track and field meet format.
In addition to its racing calendar, Atlanta Track Club will offer seven adult training programs in 2026, each designed to help participants prepare for specific Club events in addition to one program dedicated to preparing for any fall marathon on the international calendar.
For kids, seven programs will be offered across the year. These include Kilometer Kids, the Club's free running program for ages 5-14, seasonal Youth Teams for track and field and cross country, and Speed Academy, which focuses on sprint development and performance.
