25 State Champions Among Athletes Named to All-Metro Track & Field Team

Jared Moore

ATLANTA - May 27, 2025 - Atlanta Track Club named the 2025 All-Metro Track & Field Team today which includes 25 state champions and five athletes or teams who set new Georgia state records during the season. Representing 25 schools from nine counties, this year's honorees reflect the deepest talent pool in the region's storied high school track and field history.

Three athletes earned spots in two events: Maurice Gleaton (100m and 200m), Jared Moore (shot put and discus) and Jasmine Robinson (100m hurdles and 300m hurdles).

Gleaton, a senior at Langston Hughes High School, delivered one of the most dominant sprint seasons in the country. He swept the Class 5A state titles in both the 100m (10.51) and 200m (21.39), and posted season bests of 9.98 and 20.63—both among the fastest times in the nation. A three-time All-Metro honoree, Gleaton finishes his high school career ranked third nationally in the 100m.

Moore of Starr's Mill High School continued his reign over Georgia's throwing circles. The Class 4A state champion in both the shot put and discus, he recorded season bests of 63-8 and 195-5—both No. 1 in the state and among the top marks in the Southeast. This is Moore's second consecutive All-Metro selection.

Robinson, a junior at North Cobb High School, is rewriting the national record books in the hurdles. Her blistering 39.81 in the 300m hurdles shattered the Georgia state record and currently stands as the fastest time in the nation. She also captured the 6A state title in the 100m hurdles in 13.22, another mark that ranks her among the country's elite.

Other athletes and teams who set new state records this season include the Buford High School boys' 4x100m relay (39.81), Oluwatosin Awoleye of South Cobb in the girls' 800m (2:03.65), and Marietta High School's girls' 4x800m relay (9:08.62).

Athletes are selected based on place at the state meet, season best, and head-to-head competition. The Metro-area is defined as the 14 counties touching Fulton, DeKalb or Cobb Counties.

Voting is open now here for the Most Outstanding Athlete Awards. The final awards of the night will go to the top boy and girl athletes both on the track and in the field events. Athletes are selected by coaches and voting by the public, which is happening here through Sunday, June 1.

"This year's team didn't just rise to the occasion, they redefined it," said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club. "From historic performances to new state records, these athletes proved that Georgia continues to be one of the most competitive and inspiring places for high school track and field. We're proud to celebrate their achievements and excited to support the next steps in their journeys."

A full list of nominees is below.

The winners of the Patty Foell and Hawthorne Wesley Scholarships will also be announced at the awards ceremony. The $10,000 scholarships are awarded by Atlanta Track Club Foundation and Atlanta Youth Running Foundation to a boy and girl athlete in good academic standing who plans to continue competing in track and field or cross country in college.

The All-Metro High School Track & Field Awards Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 4, at Curate Event Space in Midtown Atlanta. The event is open to honorees and their guests. More information about the ceremony can be found here.
